Sigma Nu, our nation's first "Honor" fraternity,
was founded in 1869 at Virginia
Military Institute in Lexington, Virginia. One fateful night,
three cadets secretly met
on the campus of VMI and vowed to create a fraternity opposed to
hazing traditions. Since 1970, our Chapter has continued to initiate
men at Middle Tennessee State University that uphold to the highest
moral principles . The cynical, sarcastic, and constant complainer
does not belong in this Fraternity. Sigma Nu recruits only honorable
gentlemen. At Sigma Nu, you will live by the founding principles of Love, Truth, and Honor. You will witness yourself grow into an adult and gain knowledge of the skills necessary to be successful after your collegiate years. Remember, a college education is our main goal. Because of our LEAD development program among other attributes, the chapter was recognized in 2010 with the President's Cup and GOLD Standard Chapter at MTSU - two years in a row!
