Thirty-five years of fun, fellowship and public service will be cause for celebration on Saturday, April 30, when the men of Theta Iota Chapter, Sigma Nu Fraternity, come home to MTSU.
More than 250 attendees are expected at the event, including at least 75 Sigma Nu alumni who plan to return to campus from across the United States and even from Japan, organizers say.
“We had a challenge on our registration sign-up form for each person to challenge five brothers to be here,” said chapter Alumni President Michael Davis, “and it’s had kind of a ‘domino effect.’
“We even have 10 founders from the charter class from 1970 signed up to attend. That’s pretty phenomenal, because I’ve never had a chance to meet some of them myself. It’s going to be a big, big event for us.”
The celebration, which observes both the 35th anniversary of the chapter’s chartering at MTSU and the 10th anniversary of its rechartering, will kick off with a Saturday morning golf scramble, followed by an afternoon open house at the Sigma Nu headquarters on Greek Row and an evening banquet at the Doubletree Murfreesboro.
