John Seigenthaler Sr., nationally recognized journalist and advocate for first amendment rights, will address graduates at the fall commencement of the 93rd academic year at MTSU on Dec. 13. Brothers Brennan J Swing (QI 286), John R Wright (QI 312), and Barry W Duggin (QI 316) will be graduating from the Active Chapter.

The Brothers of Sigma Nu name Clay Kennedy (QI 326) as their Commander for 2004. Kennedy along with nine other Brothers were sworn to uphold chapter and national bylaws under authority of a charter granted by National Headquarters as prescribed by The Law of Sigma Nu. [more]

Ladies Praise Fall Formal

Over the weekend of Oct. 17-19, Sigma Nu retreated to New Orleans and escorted twenty-seven extraordinary ladies to their annual Formal. The beauty and romance of New Orleans was savored with a five-star dinner and a two-hour cruise on the Steamboat Natchez in the heart of the French Quarter.

The 6th Annual Beach Bash will take place on Friday, Aug. 22. Rush Week begins on Monday, Aug. 25. Smoker occurs on Friday, Aug. 29. Bid Day awaits Aug. 30, 12:00 p.m. at the KUC Knoll. Alumni, rushees, and incoming freshman are encouraged to attend all events.

Commencement Speaker Announced

Governor Phil Bredesen agrees to be the commencement speaker for the Spring 2003 commencement ceremony. The event takes place on May 10, 2003, 10 a.m. at Murphy Center. Brothers John Sanders, Alan Hunt, Josh Vegors, and Brandon Cowell will be graduating from the active chapter.

Graduate Dinner Announced

The Alumni Chapter will host a dinner Tuesday, May 6, 2003, 6 p.m. to honor the recent graduates of the active chapter. The event will be held at Outback Steakhouse in Murfreesboro and dress will be casual.

Order Season Tickets Now!

The Alumni Chapter will solicit orders for 2003 football season tickets until June 5, 2003. The price of $75 includes admission to six home games. In addition, the Alumni Chapter plans on attending the away games against Georgia, Clemson, and Missouri. [more]
